About Joel Davies
Joel Davies, a left-handed batter and left-arm orthodox spinner, is the younger brother of NSW teammate Oliver Davies. The pair gained attention through the Big Bash, playing together at Sydney Thunder in BBL|12 during the 2022-23 season before Joel joined the Sydney Sixers. Four years later, Oliver returned to the Sixers to reunite with his sibling on the team.
A standout fielder, Joel Davies experienced a breakthrough summer in 2025-26, making his Sheffield Shield debut with an unbeaten half-century and becoming a vital figure for the Sixers in their push to the BBL final. His player-of-the-match performance against Hobart in the Challenger final was a highlight of his domestic campaign.
Having led the Australia U19 team in 2022, Davies received his first senior Australia call-up for a three-game T20I series in Bangladesh during the 2026 winter.
