Gujarat Titans Men’s Cricket Team History

The Gujarat Titans had a remarkable start to their journey, winning the title in their inaugural year and nearly repeating the feat in 2023, ultimately falling short to the Chennai Super Kings in a thrilling last-ball finish. Despite a tumultuous auction that preceded their first season, the team’s notable signings, including Hardik Pandya, David Miller, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Shami, proved to be instrumental in their success. Under Hardik’s leadership, the Titans transformed into a formidable all-round team, making them a force to be reckoned with in their first two years.

The team’s fortunes took a drastic turn in 2024, following the trade of Hardik to the Mumbai Indians and the promotion of Shubman Gill, the orange cap winner from 2023, as captain. Unfortunately, the Titans struggled with injuries and a lack of stability in their lineup, resulting in their failure to make the playoffs. However, they bounced back strongly in 2025, advancing to the eliminator, and continued their upward trajectory in 2026, reaching the final, although another championship title remained elusive.
