Alisha Joy Bates is a talented spin allrounder who has carved out a professional career across both the Women’s National Cricket League and the domestic T20 circuit.
Her journey at the elite level began when she was signed by the Sydney Sixers for WBBL|05 in 2019, though she did not make an appearance for the side during that campaign.
In early 2022, Bates earned a call-up to the ACT Meteors squad for the 2021–22 WNCL season, marking her debut against New South Wales. She has since become a reliable fixture for the ACT, demonstrating her growth as a batter and contributor to the team’s success.
A significant highlight of her domestic career occurred during the 2023-24 season, where she played a pivotal role in securing the Meteors’ first win of the campaign. Promoted to the No. 4 batting position, Bates struck 66 runs in a successful chase against New South Wales, marking her maiden half-century in the competition.
Continuing her involvement with the ACT program, Bates also represented the Meteors in the inaugural T20 Spring Challenge in 2024.
