Standing at an imposing 200cm and weighing 95kg, James Jordan Bazley is a formidable allrounder who first commanded national attention during the Under-19 World Cup. Representing Australia, Bazley featured in all six of the tournament’s matches, showcasing his dual-threat capability by claiming nine wickets with his seam bowling and maintaining a solid batting average of 25.
His standout performances at the youth level quickly translated into domestic opportunities, earning him a rookie contract with the Bulls for the 2014-15 season. That same summer, Bazley got his first taste of international opposition when he represented a Cricket Australia XI in a Twenty20 practice match against South Africa in Sydney.
The following summer, Bazley reached another major milestone by making his first-class debut for the Cricket Australia XI in a tour match against the West Indies. He celebrated the occasion by scoring an even 50 runs, a performance that firmly established his reputation as one of the country’s most promising young allrounders.
